review 1: I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn't enjoy generic stories between a teenage boy, his girlfriend , and his best friend who happens to be a girl (using your imagination, you can guess what generic story would be like). I love Flash Burnout because it had such a major plot twist (SPOILER ALERT*). The plot twist is that he sleeps with his bestfriend and his girlfriend, and at the end of the book he loses both of them. Although to some that is not a plot twist but to me that was major plot twist. I thought the girlfriend and boy would make up and everything would be happy again. But sadly things did not turnout that way. But surprising, I loved this book all the way through. It had just a bit everything: comidy, romance, mystery, and etc. Overall a ... more9/10.
review 2: When I began this book, I could hardly put it down. I powered through it, eager to keep reading. And the honest approach to teenage life was a nice change of pace compared to many modern fiction books. There was not a vampire, robot, or even time travel, yet I found this book a great read. That is, until the ending. The ending made me want to rip my hair out, and I don't say that lightly. I felt it was hurried and there was no true closure. The story felt unresolved and made my appreciation of this book went down hill drastically. less

I liked the book but felt like the book ended too soon. I feel there needs to be a sequel.

This isn't bad, I just think I'd like this a lot better if I read it at age 12-13.
