review 1: I had picked up a couple issues at the comic shop a while back, when I had money in the budget for comics. The artwork is eye catching, and Colonial America/Revolutionary War stories are a favorite sub-genre for me. I found the GN at the library and decided to see what I've missed. It was a quick read, as comics usually are, but being only the first volume, it's not entirely gripping. I'll check out the next volume, but I probably won't buy it.
review 2: One of the best comics out there, particularly if you like history or coming of age drama. Bea has a dream so real, it's like she's really at the American Revolution. In fact, the American solder who rescues her from a British ship, Alan Warren, claims to have known her for a long time. The dream is so d... moreisturbing, it causes her to feel awkward about a date with her long-time crush, Ben Cato. Then, things get more compicated for Bea, because everytime she falls asleep, she is in the 1700s, in the middle of a life and death situation for Alan and his fellow freedom fighters. After attending a museum exhibit opening, Bea starts to realize that the people she's been meeting in her dreams are real live people of history. Will Alan live or die? Is there anything Bea can do about it? What about Ben Cato? less
