review 1: Talks about people hundreds of thousands of years ago not having the same health issues as people today. Maybe so, but I still can't help but think the author doesn't consider the fact that amazing medical research has been developed in that period of time and now we actually look into health problems. No one knows that paleolithic generations all survived after birth through childhood and through adulthood with no health problems. Still a big sceptic on this diet! On another note, Australians should not bother buying this book. Keeps talking about meats we don't have, does not include meats we do have, and recipes aren't metric.
review 2: I have a better understanding of the Paleo Diet after reading this book.In the beginning of the book I was becoming a bit a
... morennoyed because it felt like an infomercial. It even included cheesey success stories. I got through a good chunk of the book, slept on it and then went back and reviewed what kept rattling around in my brain. i.e. What was the connection to osteoporosis? What did he say about grain fed livestock? Why can't I have canned olives? etc. At that point I realized I liked the book because I was learning something. There are things I think could of been explained better. I don't understand some stuff and I'm not sure I feel like researching them to understand them more. i.e. the omega 6: omega 3 ratio and about potassium needs. Felt like I was suppose to have that knowledge before I started the book.I am certain I can't eat this way. I can incorporate much of it and make better choices. But, to eat like this 98% of the time, no way. No cheese, no wild rice, no quinoa, no vinegar. I will eat tons of veggies. And if I ever get a serious illness or gain a lot of weight I will relook at this book & diet. The recipes I figured would be uninteresting. I figured chicken with brussel sprouts, chicken with brocolli, chicken with green peppers. I was happily proven wrong. I guess I am completely unimaginative. The recipes look great and do-able. I appreciate having the recipes.I do think this book is causing me to over-worry about food which is not something I think is good for me. Now I'm scared of a can of kidney beans. Great.A week later... I tried two recipes from the book. Paleo-correct meat loaf & gingery chicken & veggies. There is no way I could add as much olive oil as it says. 2 Tbsp in a 2lb meat loaf!, 1/2 cup in the gingery chicken! Gross! less

It is the most pure paleo diet. Maybe too strict but I liked it.
