review 1: Katie, reluctant manager of the Artisans Alley, is about to melt under the heat of summer. The air conditioning at her craft village is underwhelming, so much so that it is actually cooler outside, and her apartment above her boyfriend's pizza shop is hotter than his ovens. After a fiery blaze destroys one of the local businesses on the square, a body is found inside. Two locals turn up missing and Katie feels compelled to help solve the murder when one of Andy's 'kids' becomes a prime suspect. She also hopes to avoid further damage the news of a murder might have on the Square's reputation. Along the way, she deals with unreasonable Artisan tenants, a food thief, a new detective in town, and the sale of the beloved mansion she has dreamed of owning since ... well, forever... more. Big changes are in store for Detective Davenport. Her relationship with Andy is constant, but seems a bit stagnant in this episode. Good plot, likable characters and lots of suspects.
review 2: As owner and manager of Artisans Alley, young widow Katie Bonner has her hands full of difficult personalities and never-ending problems. But when a body is found after a fire in one of the stores, she finds herself juggling a crime investigation as well. The local heat wave makes everything more difficult, especially because she can't have air-conditioning in the tiny apartment she's renting from her boyfriend, and the beautiful old Victorian house she's always dreamed of transforming into a bed and breakfast has just been sold to someone else. less
