Scandalous Gentlemen of St. James
review 1: 3.75/5. The Duke of Lovingdon had spent the last 2 years endulging his wicked whims following the death of his beloved wife and baby daughter - enjoying all the excesses life had to offer and yet not quite living. All that was about to change when Lady Grace, his childhood friend, knocked on his bedroom door and decided to breathe life back into him. Grace wanted to enlist his experienced help to differentiate her multitude of followers, to allow her to sort out the genuine one from those after her not insignificant dowry. Unconventional in many ways, she was the one person he was never able to say no to. He has known her since she was little, and yet there was greater depth and sorrow to her than he had realised, as he peeled off the layers to reveal and help heal the sc... morearred woman behind the beautiful vivacious face. Her reasons for recruiting his help seemed rather flimsy to me and her secret, though tragic, did not appear realistic. I guess, that's because of my own background knowledge of the issue. Still Heath is solid as ever.
review 2: Here is the story of Lady Grace Mabry and the Duke of Lovingdon, childhood friends and children of characters from Heath's wonderful Scoundrels of St. James series. Satisfying and tender, with a bit of excitement it is a pleasure to see how Grace and Lovingdon's relationship grows and changes from one of family friends to that of deep and heartfelt love. I always recommend Lorraine Heath; she never disappoints. I look forward to the next book in this series and I plan to take part of my summer to go back and re-read the Scoundrels of James. less

The characters captured me from the beginning. Couldn't put the book down. The ending was superb.

It took me by surprise toward the end, given the time period. A little dose of reality.

I'm thinking 'it was OK' means it was so-so. So it was.
