review 1: Not that good. [This is the first e-book I’ve downloaded using the Kindle app on my iPhone. I’m not too sure that this format had a little to do with not enjoying Moore’s book as much as I normally would. It’s rather disconcerting to read a book a hundred words (one screen) at a time. It’s like flipping through your grocery lists for the last ten years in a little spiral and still not knowing what to buy.] To be fair I should read it again, and if I change my mind, I'll alter my rating, as well.

... morehat happened, why wasn't she overwhelmed with guilt for not answering it? How could she just put it away? And another inconsistency: Why didn't she rat on Reynoldo? It was obvious he was up to no good, and he’d treated her very badly. Her first lover too. Anyone would seek revenge. And why didn't she contact Sarah or vice versa if only to get her last pay cheque… but also for some closure? This last may be easier to understand, but still… As always language and imagery are superb, & most of the characters are finely drawn, but these aspects of the story lacked verisimilitude and I felt their loss. less
