review 1: The story was good but I did not like the Hannah character. She seemed a little overly whiney to me and I didn't blame her husband for how he felt about her during most of this book. Their marriage seemed to abruptly resolve is problems in a way that I didn't think was too believable. Also, the other characters in the town could have been developed a little more. The writer was vague about them and their relationship to one another and standing in the town until the very last part of the book. Would have liked a little more background on them. However, the beginning of the story when Hannah was alone in the house and hearing noises and other things did give me a few weird dreams after reading before bed.
review 2: Despite a somewhat slow beginning, by the end
... more of The Hidden Girl I was unable to stop reading until I had finished the story. As a frequent reader of mysteries and thrillers, I am often able to see the plot twists ahead, but I was unable to figure out exactly how this story was going to end, and I was anxious to find out. The author did a great job of creating a primary character who seems just on edge enough that the reader isn't positive if what she's experiencing is real. A very strong entry in the psychological thriller genre! E-galley provided by NetGalley. less

I thought this book was alright. It was a little slow. It had a psychological thriller feel to it.
