review 1: Some people they are cursed. Kate Parker sure does. Her mom and dad died in a car accident on the way home form Kate's wedding to her husband Hugo. Then Hugo was murdered in a horrible robbery. Kate is traumatized and she is so scared of everything that might happen so she memorizes stats to see how to live longer. However, she has also been burglarized 2 times in the past 5 weeks. Should she move her and her son? Is she destined to have more bad things continue to happen to her? She thinks this until she meets a mysterious professor named Jago. Can Jago get Kate to forget about being cursed and live a good life? Or, is there really someone else after Kate and her son? This a great book that keeps you turning the pages.
review 2: Very good and grippi... moreng thriller. It was interesting to read about someone who had two major losses in their lives and seeing what happened as a result. In the case of Kate, she tried to control her life by controlling what risks she and her son, Jack, take. It's a look into the neurosis of a deeply scarred woman and the good a few risks can do to her psyche. Add in a bit of a mystery and surprise conclusion, and you have a pretty super book, imo. :) less
