review 1: More like 4.5 starsI really liked it. It was forever on my kindle, waiting patiently, even came up a few times, but I couldn't get into it. Now I sat down with it and didn't get distracted and - surprise! - I couldn't put it down. I liked Dylan's voice, yes, he was a doormat most of the time, trying not to get noticed, not being able to say clearly what he wanted, but the reason for that was very believable. With a brother like that it sounds like the best you can do. I liked Vin, although he came across a bit aloof, but I liked how he helped Dylan to grow up and start speaking for himself. And realizing what he wanted in life and taking steps to get that. The story progressed nicely until a very satisfying end. I think this was my first book by this author, but not the la... morest one, that's for sure.
review 2: Rich complex characters with a little bit different take on rules of BDSM than you normally see. I expected a kinky book but the story line involving Dylan's brother actually ended up being pretty dark more than just a tack plot point. It was interesting to see some of the Doms in this book not into contracts and safeword and openly derisive of such thing. Vin and Dylan are a great couple with Dylan being innocent and honest and Vin being more than a little wary of getting involved with anyone. I also have to love Miss Dolphinia as just an all around great character. less
