review 1: Another fab read by Lynda LaPlante, love the character Anna Travis. She has grown so much in this series, would love to see her settle into a relationship again, she is turning into a female version of Langton. The story line was a good one, I'm sure it will wrap up in the next book. Oates was a despicable person and I am sure we haven't seen the end of him. Looking forward to the next installment.
review 2: Up to a point I agree with the people who gave one or two star reviews and said they could not make it past the first 25-30 pages. The first chapter was terrible...wooden and very boring! I can't believe the editors let it go. After that the characters opened up and got going. The pace is typically British with a detail oriented pace but it became... more a good read, so I'm glad I did not quit after the first chapter, which I was tempted to do.i less
