Anna Travis
review 1: The mystery story itself is quite good in this series. Unfortunately, Anna Travis is such a twit that it makes it difficult to read. Anna has been warned several times in previous books about keeping key information to herself and not working as a team member as well as disclosing confidential police information to her boyfriends. Here she is yet again, book 5 doing the same thing! This time she is disclosing information to the chiropractor she just met "not thinking about the ethical issues..." Really?! Oddly, she is also applying for a promotion. Too frustrating with this character to continue the series.
review 2: Meh. Not for me. I was attracted to this book after it was recently adapted for ITV, and as a television drama I thoroughly enjoyed it. H
... moreowever I just couldn't get into the book and the characters seemed a bit one-dimensional for me. Unfortunately I could spot a few of the plotlines from a mile-off, which I hate. I love British crime writers, in particular Ruth Rendell and Ian Rankin, so I was really disappointed I couldn't enjoy this by the massively-well know Ms La Plante. Disappointing. less
