review 1: Fabulous, well researched and excellently fictionalized novel of the Jews journey from exile in Babylonia returning to Jerusalem to rebuilt God's temple. The book addresses a lesser known Bible story and give the reader a better insight into the history of the time. I love Lynn Austins biblical fiction as it always helps bring alive the people of the Bible. I would also highly recommend her book Pilgrimage which is a memior of her journeys in the Holy Land. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. I checked out this book at my local library!!!
review 2: This was a book I didn't want to put down. Knowing Lynn Austin was a great writer from her Chronicles of the Kings series, this Book did not disappoint. How can a punished Jews people ever return fr... moreom Babylon? What would it take to truly return to God? Could Solomon's temple be rebuilt with Samaritans as neighbors? GREAT questions and wonderful perspective. It's hard to remember this is historical fiction. A wonderful read that gets you thinking about whether I would have the courage to "Return to Me." less
