review 1: I really adored this fifth book and it was all due, mainly, to Zackary! Of course, the authors have also managed to keep the fun in these books without them becoming staid.Zackary is a Paxtillian and he loves his mom and his mom's fruitcake more than anything in the world. Until he meets Tank. Zackary knows that Tank is his mate but he can't do anything about it. His mom has drilled the mating ritual into his head since birth and no intercourse is allowed until the ritual is complete.Tank is a little frustrated. He is climbing out of his skin to claim Zackary and doesn't understand why that can't happen. He is in love with his mate and his quirky ways and just wants to take care of him and protect him forever.Protecting everyone on the Lady Blue might be a little difficult... more when the ship gets sucked through a wormhole trying to outrun the Elite Forces. The wormhole sends them to Old Earth - centuries in the past! Figuring out how to get back to their time and get Zackary to Paxtil for the ritual makes for a lot of laughs!
review 2: The fifth book is firmly in the ‘humorous’ camp again, with mates who want each other but have to wait for some mysterious ritual, an excursion through a wormhole that includes time travel (none of it with any scientific foundation at all), and two new crew members who can only add to the confusion. Oh, yes, ‘the law’ is still after the Lady Blue Crew and now they’ve added smuggling illegal cargo to the previous charges. Zackary is as fun as ever, hacking into computer systems whenever he can and coming up with wild plans for the mates to support the warriors. Of course, he ends up in more trouble than anyone can imagine, but does it with great panache. He also improves a few on-board systems in-between trying to stay true to his vow of celibacy until he can get back to his home planet to get the stuff needed for his bonding ritual.Tank must be one of the most patient and understanding mates in the history of space exploration. He is protective without smothering Zackary’s creativity, supportive when Zackary gets injured, and once they decide to ‘fool around’, since that is safe enough not to endanger Zackary’s vow? He is so hot for his mate-to-be that they have quite a bit of fun without going all the way. If you like sci-fi stories with a ton of humor thrown in, if two men struggling to find relief without going all the way and being very inventive about it sounds like fun, and if you liked the other books in this series, you will probably like this one just as much. less

A short story but quite good. Part of a series but could be read as a standalone.
