review 1: The Raven Boys was one of the better reads I cam across this year and I'm happy I didn't bypass it just because I've read the same ' Quiet loner girl meets attractive rich boys and shit happens' and the same 'Whiny girl YA paranormal'complete with instant-love and ineptitude. The Raven Cycle-The Raven Boys:Book 1 is not a romance book. It focuses solely on trust and friendship, first and foremost. It is creepy, magical, exciting, somber, and wonderful. Each character was intriguing and highly developed making them enjoyable to read and memorable.Starting off, the story was kind of slow but once it picked up, I couldn't put this book down and I literally brought it with me everywhere.I'm looking forward to reading the second and the most recent third installm... moreents!
review 2: Umm... what did I just read? This was a very intriguing read to say the least, the writing style was different from what I'm used to and Blue was different from what I expected, but I loved it. Gansey was brilliant, I have never read a character like him, at first the description of him left me disappointed (I'm used to my book boys devilishly handsome) but when I saw him from Blue's perspective I was won over. I was so annoyed they didn't get together, I already ship it so much. The actual plot... What even? Its quite hard to wrap your head around, but it is fantastic, I love how things connected at the end. less

Maggie nunca decepciona.

Blue lives in a house of psychics, is even the daughter of a psychic, but has never had the second sight herself. She is also, for some reason, fated to kill the boy she loves with a kiss, a silly plot point I could have done without.I like Blue. I like her mother and her eccentric housemates. I like the chapters that are told from her point of view. The other characters and voices are a lot weaker. There is a shocking twist halfway through the book that I thought was very well done, but a lot of the rest of the plot fell kind of flat. Not sure I will read on.
