review 1: I had a lot of hope for this book and the beginning fed that hope for a dramatic and romantic story. I love the heroine, she's strong, independent, and successful: everything a girl wants to be when she grow up' and the hero is actually like-able since he actually love his child and take responsibility and stands up for her even when she is not that agreeable. However, the climax killed my high for this book, the hero was being an ass and the girl just "oh, you love me? then it is okay for you to ignore me for a week without a word for an explanation and I will be another girl who is so in love that she will forgive her love for hurting her." it's like come on, her whole appeal to the women reading this book is her strength and no nonsense attitude and at the end she bec... moreame a damsel in distress. So the ending is a little anticlimactic and out of character but all n all, it's a good read.
review 2: This book was okay. The story was readable, but neither of the characters were particularly interesting and I didn't really come to believe in their romance. Also, I found it annoying how often Maximo compared Alison to his late wife with thoughts of how much better Alison was in comparison to her. I don't know why so many romances have to down play all prior relationships of the hero and/or heroine. Other than that, there was nothing wrong with this book; just nothing special about it either. less

3 1/2 stars for a good read that somehow lacked punch.
