review 2: For some reason, I thought that Perdita's story would come second and that Georgina's would be last, so I was surprised when I began this second Wicked Widows novel. I also should mention that wicked really is not a descriptor for these unfortunate ladies who had all been abused by their now-deceased husbands.Again, Manda Collins has written a book that managed to hold my attention and that has me actively waiting to read the third and last story in the series, to be released later this year. For, once again, a group of "minor" culprits have set out to knowingly, or unknowingly, destroy the widow Georgina, whose husband died at Waterloo. But, alas, the true villain behind the attempts on the first two widows remains unknown.The series also takes on the wide social distance between the aristocracy and other classes in post-Napoleonic England. In this case, can or should this distance be breached between an earl and the widow Georgina? What kinds of repercussions might she face if she should agree to marry above her class?If you are a fan of regency romance novels, do treat yourself to this series of three books by Manda Collins. less
