review 1: Boys of Steel: The Creators of SupermanBy Marc Tyler NoblemanThe book Boys of Steel tells the story of the creators of superman. The author does a very good job of making the characters come together and show the reader how they work together. For example one character is the one who writes the superman stories and his partner draws all the pictures; the author does an amazing job at showing their relationship of growing up together creating these stories. As the story goes on you find out that they have their credits taken away from them for Superman. Through the pictures and direct quotes you start to really empathize with the characters about losing there life's work. Also I think that having this book made into a graphic novel helps a lot with that. It always you to se... moree the character instead of just imagining there expressions and actions. One thing I really liked about this book is that in the end it has a couple pages explaining their story in greater detail and tells events that happen after the story ended. I would recommend this to younger kids because it is an extremely easy read but also interesting. I had fun reading this book.
review 2: This is a great picture book story about the two creators of Superman, Jerry Siegel (writer) and Joe Shuster (illustrator). I could totally identify with their nerdiness during high school and not knowing how to relate to "normal" people, expect my favorite thing was anime rather than comics at the time.In the essay at the back, I found it sad that DC treated them so unfairly so many times, but I was glad that their families got something from their legacy in the end. less
