review 1: Just couldn't do it. Made it 10% of the way in and then spent at least five days trying to will myself to read more. Couldn't. I am so picky about first person narration as it is; first person narration of a woman talking about how hard it is to be a woman in this particular scenario - but written by a man - was too much. I feel a little bad, like, men can write women too! But in this case, it totally didn't work for me.
review 2: This book was a happy accident that I picked up in the bookstore knowing nothing about it. If you are an intelligent reader looking for a great page-turner, this is it. A very interesting narrative told from an interesting main character. Lots of surprising changes of direction in the plot that you would not predict. This is
... moreone of those books that I carried with me and hungrily plowed through whenever I got a chance... 5 pages at the bus stop, 2 pages waiting for coffee, etc. Great read! less
