review 1: The Benjamin effect is a very useful device in this story which manages to both get Laureth into sticky situations and get her out of them. It just so happens Benjamin is her brother but you will have to read the book to find out what effect he has. This is an fast paced story which has Laureth setting off to New York to find her Dad who she believes has mysteriously disappeared. Plenty of twists and turns to keep the story moving and unusual characters around every twist. Set over a very short time frame Laureth uses her missing Dad's notebook as the key to discovering what has happened. Compelling and enjoyable read.
