review 1: I have to say that I liked this book so much more than Oryx and Crake. I don't know if it was because I really liked the characters from this book or if I just liked the story better. It also was a plus that I read it right after Oryx and Crake - it helped me understand it better which in turn made Oryx and Crake seem like a much better book. I can't wait to read MaddAddam. I already have it and will probably start it tomorrow!
review 2: I had trouble putting this book down and would have read it straight through if the rest of my life didn't require attention! I read Oryx and Crake not long after it was published so that would have been about 10 years ago. I wish I had re-read it before starting Year of the Flood. But only to refresh my memory a bit. I... more loved Oryx and Crake and remember it fairly well. Again Atwood has created a very plausible and frightening future, not too distant from now, and her characters are well-drawn. As soon as I put this volume down I started in on MaddAddam. less
