review 1: This should be required reading for all pre-teen girls. Human trafficking is a very real and growing problem that tends to be swept under the rug. No one thinks it will happen to them, and hopefully it won't, but being aware of the possibilities and warning signs can often prevent finding yourself in a dangerous situation. Margaret Daley's novel sheds light on the darkness of this crime while weaving a story of suspense and the meaning of true love without over indulging in unsavory details. This is a fast-paced easy read packed with suspense and information. I highly recommend.
review 2: This novel deals with the sensitive subject of human trafficking. I thought that the author did a great job of informing the reader about human trafficking in the United State
... mores and in the world. I really felt able to relate to be main character Kate, who runs Beacon of Hope, a home for girls who are trying to escape prostitution. This was a good book that I was able to download for free. There is the beginning of a romance, but most of the book surrounds the investigation into the disappearance of a student from Beacon of Hope. Personally, I don't know much about trafficking is the US. This novel showed me it is something I should be more aware of. Scary stuff! less

It wasn't a bad read. I could've done with a little less preachiness, but overall it was okay.
