review 1: Wow! This book is so heartbreaking....I can't imagine feeling so helpless and broken. To be terrified of everything...of hating myself to the point of anger and to contemplate death. Allyn is slowing dying daily. After being brutally attacked three years ago she's about to give up, but seeing a TV program brings hope to her doorstep....Dr. Dominic Shriver. Maybe he can help bring some color back into her life. She can't take her life anymore living in a constant of fear. She never leaves her home, lost all her friendsa and stays locked inside with only her parents and current therapist visiting. Will he be her saving grace? Will he help or just be another person telling her to move on? I absolutely loved Dominic. He was the perfect fit for Allyn. She needed som... moreeone that she could feel safe with. Someone to make her feel special, to see past her scars. He was patient, sweet, never pushed her and was very protective. The more time he spent with her the attraction began to grow, but it's a taboo subject....doctor/patient. Will he give into his heart? Or will he stick to the ethics of his job?He brought Allyn strength when she needed it most. He was her savior as she was his spot of bright light. Both of them healed each other. Their love was a little wrong, but yet so right. It was actually beautiful and I was moved to see the love that they had for each other. She finally was being set free from her demons all because she opened the door. Her life was starting over one small step at a time....Dominic helped her, but Allyn did it because she finally felt worthy again. But will that be enough to save her? The last half of the book was a little surprising. I couldn't believe how things started to unravel. I still am a little speechless. I don't understand the bad reviews on this book. It was wonderfully written, the story is intriguing and also heartbreaking. The dialogue flows and the chemistry is undeniable and sweet. I loved it!
review 2: OMG I can’t even put into words how much I enjoyed this story. At times, it was a very difficult story to read. My heart broke every time Allyn remember that horrible night. But somehow she got her second chance at life and love. Each big step she took, I was jumping for joy. She was able to reclaim herself again and the clawed her way to her version of happiness. Dr. Shriver was also saved by falling in love with her. He proved in the end that love conquers all things even the love of family. The ending just blew me away. This was a wonderful story that takes you through the dark into the light. Make sure you have a box of tissues ready as you read this tory. less
