review 1: This was a did-not-finish book. I read Grit and I know a lot of people liked it but I couldn't get into it. I just felt like the heroine kept making dumb decisions. Hmm, some bikers show up and say your dad lost the farm. Instead of going with THE COPS (who are at the house too), she decides to hop on the back of the bike of a man she's never met before. Wow. That makes no sense at all. Then the president offers to buy her clothes since she jumped on his bike wearing her pajamas. So she comes back to the clubhouse with a belly button piercing. Then makes comments about her "other piercings" Yeah, it's in a very unusual place. I had to stop reading the book at that point. I know a lot of other readers enjoyed the book, but it wasn't for me.

... more★★Rank Grit with some of my favorite MC reads. Jaeger (hero) is an MC President, fight, and all round foul mouthed prick. Now don’t let this little tidbit keep you from reading to the book. He does have his good side and his dirty mouth and alpha ways add a little humor to the book and make for a very interesting dynamic between him and Nix (heroine), who fights him every step of the way.“She is as stubborn as they come, the most headstrong person I think I’ve ever met. And by far the most courageous too. She’s already stood up to me countless times…” He meets Nix when he comes to claim her farm that her father has used for collateral for his gambling debts. Nix finds herself in a situation where she is in danger and the one person willing to protect her is Jaeger. “But I’m far from selfless and noble. I’m an egocentric, narcissistic, self-centered prick, and I want her all for myself. I’m not sharing her, ever, with anyone. And if she has a choice in the matter, she has another thing coming.”Even though Jaeger her best interest at heart. They fight every step of the way because Nix is a strong, independent woman who will not be treat like he treats the “club whores” or the “66 %” (must read the book).“His alpha ways make me crazy. I fight with myself every time he opens his mouth. My brain tells me to be disgusted. But my body becomes highly charged, craving his words, and worse still needing his touch.”Grit is funny, scorching hot, a bit of an emotional read and I love every second of it. I would love to see a book with Sarge and Milina. less
