review 1: MY LIFE FOR YOURS has a unique storyline and it is one I have never read before. It was like a breath of fresh air. Frankie is a strong-willed, independent woman who knows what she likes and what she deserves. I mean, she has to since she's a freakin' mob boss! She doesn't back down from anything and readers immediately see her toughness. She's a likable character and I found myself wanting to see her character come full swing into finding love and showing her vulnerability. Jeremy Miller is a rich and successful senator and at times I found that he was a pushover when it came to Frankie but in the bedroom....boy.....he was all alpha male. I loved the banter between them and I think these characters played off of each other well and kind of evened each other out. I actuall... morey caught myself giggling quite a few times during their sarcastic love/hate relationship conversations, haha: "Darling, unless your mouth is sucking me off or kissing me, then please don't use it for anything else." I chuckle and turn away from him. Deviant." --MY LIFE FOR YOURS, Margaret McHeyzer. MY LIFE FOR YOURS is written in a way that leaves the reader wanting more. You want to see Frankie have her happily ever after and Jeremy Miller is exactly that. He doesn't give up on her and he doesn't scare easily, that's for sure! The ending blew me away because I just wasn't expecting it and I think that really shows the beauty of Margaret McHeyzer's writing. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more of her work!
review 2: *Received an ARC for honest reviewFirstly, I want to thank the author for allowing me to read her book. I know she worked hard to write this, which is why it pains me to write a negative review. That being said, I believe in the power of honesty and feel my review is more valuable to both the author and the reader if I am as honest as possible. I did not hate this book, in fact if a few things were different I may have actually really enjoyed it. The idea of a woman mob boss and alpha female is brilliant, it is what drew me to pick this book up. Frankie is a great lead female, she played the part so well. I enjoyed watching her go from hard, evil, strong mob boss to a woman- a woman that falls in love and lets her emotions take over.I did not however, like the pace of this book. It was far too rushed making the story feel forced. I didn't understand or feel the emotions the author wanted me to feel. I believe with a little tweaking this story and this author will be successful and I wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors. less
