review 1: If you thought "Gods Behaving Badly" was absurd--in an utterly entertaining and charming way, you will have a rollicking good time in Marie Phillips second novel "The Table of Less Valued Knights" This novel contains some surprisingly complex twists and turns, with comedic banter, adventure, runt giants, elephants, a Prince Consort who is determined to call himself King, and let's not forget, Knights of questionable merit and valour.
review 2: This book was absolutely hilarious. It was so similar to a Monty Python movie, I thought I was just reading another Monty Python tale. There was a lot to do with gender and feminism in this book as well, which was subtle enough that it didn't seem out of place for the time period, but also strong enough that it made a poi
... morent about societal gender assumptions. So I thought that was well done. I only give it four stars and not five out of personal preference. Five stars means it's one of my favourite reads, and by the end of this novel, I didn't feel anything very strongly toward the novel itself. I recommend it to anyone who likes a good comedy or satire! less
