review 1: I loved the creativity of Mirror, Mirror so clearly I had to read this one. The author clearly has a gift to boil classic fairy tales down to a poem. Her true talent shows when she takes the poem and flips it. The same poem when flipped has a new perspective by the change of punctuation alone. Exact same words flipped on their heads. Literature snobs should read this book to see how far children's lit has come.

... morenarrator, perspective, and meaning! This is a follow-up to her first book of "reversos" titled "Mirror Mirror." Her first book focused only on fairytales while this book focuses on both fairytales and fables. In the back of the book, Singer lists the tales in the book and information about each tale. This would be a great follow-up discussion with students or to give them more background informational about the tales. less
