review 1: 2.5 ⭐️'sThe Glassblower of Murano....A disorientated historical romance. Whilst a lovely story, the telling of it is misshapen and clumsy. Some points on clumsy story writing...Why prattle on about the librarian? .....8 months of growth over winter (the unborn babe)? When she fell pregnant after being told by a professional she was barren? Why when telling the story from a direct characters' P.O.V. does the author feel the need to separate thoughts from the text? The entire chapter is that character's thoughts, feelings, and these little asides constantly repeat the characters desires, as if the reader wasn't aware. An irritating quirk, that distracts from the actual story.
review 2: This was a nice read. No grand literary achievement, but well done and enj
... moreoyable. Set in Venice alternately between the present and the late 1600's, it follows a young woman recently moved to Venice and searching out her ancestry among...of course...the glassblowers of Murano. It also follows the history of her glassblowing ancestors. Lots of fun details about the life and times of Venice in that era. Oh, and there's a love story intertwined as well. : ) less

The historical facts were very interesting. But, for some reason, I couldn't get into the book.

I liked the book. I wish I had been to Venice so I understood the places she talked about!
