review 1: I was introduced to the characters Bliss and Jackson during only For You, book two in the Boys Of The South series. Jackson is a well known musician and Bliss was just the obscure and quiet stage hand working for his father. Upon first glance these two appear as opposite as oil and water, never to mix fully. He was the bad boy who left his pregnant fiance on the side of the road after a terrible car crash making me instantly hate him. he was prickly and an asshole to almost everyone he came in contact with except Violet. He never has gotten over her and spent most of the last book trying to convince her to take him back to no effect. Jackson was difficult to like due to his attitude and entitled behavior. He can and has had any woman that blinks at him and his interest in ... moreinnocent Bliss Davenport seems to only be superficial but she calls out something in him he's long tried to force down deep. Getting to know Jackson Morgan was at times hard and always a wild ride. He wasn't just the celebrity a--hole he came across as early in the beginning of the series. He's got some personal demons that have haunted him and one of those problems is someone very close to him. He is one of those characters that makes continuously bad decisions, especially after a drunken incident involving Bliss that leads to permanent consequences. While Jackson wasn't my favorite guy in the series I enjoyed watching him grow and finally get his head on straight and his life on the right track for him.Bliss' character was one of those silent lamb types that make me want to protect her and root for her to find something better than what she was letting herself accept. This poor girl has been on her own since she was young and has never had any roots or a place to settle down. The story between Jackson and Bliss was something I wasn't expecting but surprised me and left me hopeful that he would be able to change. She's had her own difficult past to overcome with an abusive set of foster parents and her current reading issues she was the underdog I love to root for. She wasn't impressed by the money and fame that came with being with Jackson. She saw exactly who he was inside and showed him how to love and BE loved in return. Something I don't think he had ever experienced. Even though she was quiet and shy she had enough backbone to stand up for herself and knew she didn't want an unstable life and made Jackson take a hard look at everything he's done with his life. I loved watching her assert herself and not just let him run over her despite her feelings. These two characters have several ups and downs and face things they both didn't know about the other person and seeing them conquer their demons was such a great feeling to experience. It was nice seeing characters from the previous books in the series and be able to see what they have been up to since we last saw them. True For You was a passionately intense addition to this dramatic series of books. Each story is unique to the characters and their circumstances. I can't wait to see what and WHO is next up in this deliciously sexy series with hot southern men and strong determined women!
review 2: 3.5-4 I knew going into this book that I liked Bliss. I was still on the fence about Jackson. I ended up liking Jackson in the end, but honestly...it took a while for me to warm up to him. What I liked: I liked how their story unfolded, particularly near the end. What didn't work for me: I think because I was on the fence about Jackson until the end, it was hard to really engage in the story. Overall: I do enjoy this series and I think this book is a nice addition. Jackson is Cole's brother, so I can't wait to see how their family dynamic will be. less
