review 1: Lara Church cannot remember what the man looks like that attacked, strangled and nearly killed her when she lived in Seattle. She was the 7th victim of the strangler and left to return to Austin, Texas so she could forget and start a new life. But trouble followed her and more women were killed in Austin with the same pattern as the ones in Seattle. But she continued to fight for a new life and worked in photography, teaching classes and showing her work in a gallery. But trouble followed her and she had to start watching and remembering all over again. A real thriller.
review 2: “The Seventh Victim” was the book chosen as our romantic suspense read for March 2013, although one of the main comments we received from the group was that it should not have b
... moreeen listed as a romantic suspense, but rather just suspense/thriller! There is only a very slight romance between Lara and James. Even so, this book was the favorite of the month’s reads, with a score of 7.4 out of 10. Many of our readers are familiar with Mary Burton’s work, and while this was not their favorite of her work, they did like it. The general consensus was that this was a good book, but it slightly missed the mark, with too much unnecessary description, and an unnecessary twist at the end. Without giving away the ending, we had higher hopes for one of the characters. less
