review 1: Just finished the book and loved it. Mary Jo Putney has done it again. Boy, without spoiling to much of anything you have Julia who has cloister herself off far away from London for a reason. Trouble has found her, she is kidnapped and knows she is going to die but Major Randell a friend of the Duke and her best friends husband, rescues her. He suggests they marry once he finds out who she really is, thinking that will save her. He we go again, we have mystery, intrigue, ruthless killers, lust, passion and eventually love and acceptance all wrapped up in another awe inspiring read!!! Thank you!!!

... morehe writing was clunk and repetitive at parts and the plot proceeded at a helter skelter rate. Also, I should note that, because of how quickly things in this book develop, I think it is highly advisable to read the first book in this series before proceeding to this installment, which is not what I did. I think a lot of the buildup between these characters must have happened in the last book, and this book certainly implied and stated that such is the case.More thoughts to come depending on my thoughts about the rest of the series. less
