review 1: Every single plot element in this book was ludicrous, and lord there were just so many of them. There was absolutely no love story, the characters were just suddenly in love. Had I not read this book after the next two, I wouldn't have continued the series. And, in retrospect, the lack of any foreshadowing for the pairing in the second book, which I assumed had to have happened because of the way THAT book jumped into the romantic entanglement, I like the second book less now too. Just a colossal disappointment all around.

She christens him Adam when he appears to have lost his memory and she also tells him they're married.Several friends search for their friend Adam, the Duke of Ashton who has been lost at sea. They end up in Hartley where reports have surfaced of a man washing ashore and being taken in by a friendly villager. Coincidences galore abound in this as Mariah several time claims it seems like they're living in a stage comedy. Interesting side plot of Adam being half Indian and all the challenges that brought into his life. less
