review 1: Yep, she's still one of my favorite non-fiction authors. I wonder if she got this particular topic while researching for her last book on astronauts and space? This is a very well written, funny, look at the alimentary canal, from the intake to the output and everything in-between. Well worth the read. My advice though, read this one in print. You will want to access the footnotes which are full of funny extras.
review 2: I enjoyed this book far more than I thought I would enjoy a book on digestion. I admit, I do find scatological humor very funny and I found this book very funny, but I think even more refined readers will be entertained by this well-researched and informative book on how food is processed by the body. If you want to know more about American... more history or cat food tasting or Elvis, this is the book for you. less
