review 1: I have to say that I enjoyed this book as much as I did the first one in the series (Foresaken Dreams). MaryLu does a good job of sweeping you away to a far away land for an enjoyable trip. The charactr development is very good as is the descriptions of the land. There is a mixture of romance as well as adventure so you will not want to put this book down. Another thing I enjoyed was seeing how the colony was developing from the first story. I can't wait to see what MaryLu has in store for us in the third book. I would recommend reading this series in order to get the full story but that is not to say that you could not enjoy this by itself as well.
review 2: Elusive Hope by MaryLu Tyndall is a First Read Win and I'm giving my honest opinion. This book has a li... morettle bit of everything, adventure, romance, politics, to paranormal. It begins with Hayden Gale searching for his father by stowing away on a ship of Southerners fleeing the defeated south at the end of the Civil War to set up s colony in Brazil. Hayden gets mixed up with Magnolia Scott who follows after him to go to Rio. She wants to sail north back to the US. Hayden, a con man wants her money to buy supplies and chase after his father. In the meantime, one of the colonists finds an evil temple in the jungle. He goes mad digging in the bowels of that temple. The colonist see people from their past who disappear. This book is part of a series but it is a stand alone book. less
