review 1: Rated this book, 5 stars because I loved how the book's theme is Sticking to a goal and following it. I liked that the author put real characters that actually happened in the history, although, some of the characters were real. It was suprising that the characters were real in history. I liked the fact that the characters were sticking to a goal and was able to follow through their goal, even though there were some problems through their adventure. Recommend reading...:D Happy Reading!
review 2: Enjoyed this book and especially all of the research involved in the frontier, the American Philosophical Society, and the main character. My only objection was the somewhat incongruous inclusion of magical elements during the last third of the book. It feels like th... moreere were probably two potential stories here - one with and one without magic and trying to accommodate both of them didn't work for me. However, the emotional resolution and development over the book was excellent and I found that despite the logical inconsistencies, I loved the overall story. less
