review 1: I never knew that reading a book could actually be painful. This story makes Twilight look like a slightly-less-crappy version of Twilight.I stopped reading at page 39. After constant, mind-numbing, annoying reminders that Cassidy is a "cool mom" who is best buds with her daughter, obsessed with food, can't/won't cook, and refers to genitals as "hoo-hah and Mr. Happy", I'd had enough. They're called vaginas and penises, lady!For good measure, this author tossed in a few "Oh, did I mention...?" every few pages, because that's sooo much easier than actually writing an intelligent backstory. (Oh, and did I mention that this author LOVES caps and parenthesis? You'll get one at least every few paragraphs!)The nail in the coffin for me was that the character Cassidy couldn't go ... moretwo seconds without thinking about her "hoo-hah" or craving an orgasm like I crave cigarettes. Talking to your daughter on the phone? Fantasize about an orgasm. Watching your dog eat crumbs off the floor? Think about all the sex you've had this month. Meeting a stranger? Refer to your vagina as "standing at attention" and then go back to thinking about the sex you had last month. Meeting with your child's teacher? Stand in the parking lot, think about sex, and then ponder if it's ok to have sexual thoughts in a high school parking lot (in parenthesis, of COURSE!).This author tried desperately to be witty, and all she succeeded at was appearing desperate. This is a lesson learned. Never buy $1 clearance books. There is a reason they can't sell them.
review 2: A light and fluffy demon hunter story. Demon Duster Cassie is a sex addict, a chocaholic and a demon magnet. She is inundated with demons trying to kill her since she gave sanctuary to Brady, the demon Queen's Faery and sex slave. This is a rollicking good time except for the demon dusting. Human cop, ex-husband Logan, wants back in her life. Demon lover, Devlin wants back in her life after cheating on her. And of course, the Queen is trying to kill her. Action, action, action and lots of food too. Very quick enjoyable read. less
