I Married a Billionaire
review 1: After reading "I Married a Master," I was interested in reading more by the author, so I got "I Married a Billionaire." So..I read them out of sequence, but it's not a big deal -- it didn't really affect my enjoyment of either book.In "Billionaire," we meet Madeline (aka Maddy) Wainright, who's squirreled away in a cubicle doing graphic design for Daniel Thorne's company. One day she's summoned to Daniel's office where she gets the most extraordinary offer -- $2 million in exchange marrying Daniel so he can stay in the U.S.A. Despite her misgivings, a few days later she accepts his offer, and their 'courtship' begins. But soon Maddy finds herself deeply attracted to Daniel and wishing that he could care for her for real. Of course, eventually their scheme is exposed, but t... morehey get their HEA after some very hot and steamy sex. There's a lot to swallow (pardon the pun)...you have to get past the initial premise about someone in Daniel's position needing to marry to establish legal residency, and then get past the fact that he makes that offer to one of his employees...This requires considerable 'willing suspension of disbelief'! However, Marchande makes both Maddie and Daniel enjoyable characters. Maddie's a great heroine -- she's street-smart, but self aware and caring. We don't get to know Daniel much at all other than the basics -- he's hot, smart, and rich. But possibly we learn more about him in future installments. So..This book is absolutely popcorn (and cotton candy, and milk duds, and twizzlers) for your brain. As long as you don't take it too seriously, it's really a fun read.
review 2: Maddy is a hard worker and a loner. She also has some money problems She is estranged from her family and doesn't have a good dating record. Daniel is her billionaire boss who needs to get married to stay in the country. He offers her 2 million dollars to marry him. She doesn't agree right way but she does marry him. They have an amazing honeymoon but when they get back Daniel puts distance between them. Maddy has a hard time with it. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. less
