review 1: Umm.....no just plain no. No to the plot, no to the writing, no to the characters and a humongous no to the sex!Usually one of my biggest pet peeves in a romance story is the short time frame. The sex, misunderstanding, the I really can't live without him/her takes place over a few days or a couple of weeks. Books seem shorter and shorter. If you doubt this check out old school romance novels. They created a world for the reader to immerse herself sometimes over months but I digress; back to why I hated this book. Lack of chracter development. I never "got" Maddy. Okay she married him for the money that part was obivious but why was she attracted to him? Once their deal was signed and sealed they started to spend time together pretending to fall in love. Our view was limi... moreted because the author only showed the reader a couple of these moments. Other than he was richer than a Mofo and hot (although the reader was never given a description of him or Maddy which is another thing I hate) we never get to know him. I personally found him creepy so maybe the writer did a good job after all. The sex scenes were terrible. No passion, tenderness, freaking foreplay. They were not hot at least in my humble opinion but to wash her own. Just Daniel controlling Maddy. Daniel to Maddy "You can come when I tell you can come" and Maddy all shivery doing whatever he wants because don't all women deep down want to be controlled and dominated in the bedroom? Some grown ass sexually active women don't know what they have secretly been craving until some rich power asshole tells what they want and need. How she fell "love" with this creepy douche I'll never understand. I get that Fifity Shades of Grey made an impact but I wish writers would get that not all readers of romance and erotica are into the dominance of a women and a man controlling the sexuality of a woman; wether the woman likes it or not is not my point. Well actually it is my point; if it was Maddy's thing from the beginning that would have been fine but it wasn't and that's my problem.
review 2: I have no words that can truly express how much I hated this book. I finished it and I am still a little apologetic to myself about that. Where to start? The 'relationship' was ridiculous. It was fleshed out only slightly less than the fake characters. There was some supposed D/s relations in the story which I did not see in the description. I have no issues with the D/s relationship concept at large, in fact, I often enjoy the edge it gives a story and the broadness of scope it gives the leads - in this book it was crap. It wasn't done right or well. It was more like an abusive man who was patronizing and lowering himself in his willingness to teach his foolish little woman something while he referred to her as his sub. The emotions necessary to the D/s relationship were not only absent, they were enemies to the storyline. It irritated me so much that even seeing the cover of the book makes me frustrated inside. I will actively avoid this author in the future. less

this is a good read. It's a little different and I didn't agree with some things but still good.

I actually really enjoyed this story...until the end. The end felt entirely too rushed for me.
