review 1: Molly is a psychic who has visions she calls "The Knowing", and as the story begins you learn she had a bad feeling about a young girl screaming in a car she passes by. When the man holding the little girl pretends she is his daughter, upset about not getting the doll she wanted, Molly walks away. Amanda's body is found days later, and Molly's life is upended. This sets the stage for another abduction of a young girl ten years later, and Molly is determined that she will not stand by for this one, but must help find the missing girl. This is a likable, but not outstanding read. I found myself confused by the story. She throws many mysteries into the mix, which gets cluttered after awhile with too many characters and back stories to keep straight. I found myself wondering wh... morey she was introducing characters right as the story is ending, which left me more confused. I was drawn into the story of the abducted girl, and continued reading because I wanted to know what happened to her. But, there seemed to be so many suspects and such odd behavior by so many of the characters, that I found the story unbelievable. I think there was a shorter story in there trying to get out, and it just didn't quite make it.
review 2: Good little mystery. Figured part of it out; didn't figure part of it out. I did wonder how all of it was going to come together in the end. The writing and characters sometimes lack depth, but that actually makes it an easier read. On occasion the lack of depth in a character is annoying, but that's easy to suspend if you just follow the basic plot and story which is interesting. The editing, however, leaves a lot to be desired. I found myself going back to re-read parts only to discover that my eyes had not failed, the editor had. It's minor, but happened enough that I noticed.A good rainy day read if you don't expect too much from it (and I didn't . . got it free for the Kindle app on my phone! First book I read on it and won't be the last!) less

The author tries to mislead you in this book. Doesn't work too well and ends up kind of confusing.
