review 1: I remember picking up these books while I live in TN. It felt like a lifetime ago to begin a kids series. Yes truly kids book the chapters are short and the book is too. But it has cool illustrations and the story pulls you along. A bit of mystery. This is the last book in the 9 part book series and I finally finished it. A bit sad to see it go but glad to see the main characters lives are okay after the book ends. So long I say to Sabrina & Daphne Grimm and all the beloved characters that came along for the ride and their family too.
review 2: I thought this series started off absolutely great. But some of the middle books felt like the same story told a couple of times. I lost interest but when the last title was announced, I thought I'd like to read it. A lo
... moret of it is really good. However, I thought that the climax was rather, well, anticlimactic. A monster like Mirror just up and meekly dies off faced with the emotion of love? It felt like a lovely moral to hand to children, but I bet I'm not the only one who has found this rather hard to believe. A lot of the story did make sense. But was Jake's method of getting even with two villains preplanned out in a way Machiavelli would have approved of, or impromptu? And doesn't it rather contradicts the message of love? I'll be interested to see what Buckley writes next. less

A great ending to a fab series. For fans of fairy tales and strong female leads.
