review 1: As others have noted, there are problems with this book when it comes to issues of dialects and some discrepancies in plot details. Nevertheless, it is a really good story about buried grief and the need to bring that grief to light and let healing happen. I enjoyed it. Warning. Some parts are not easy to read and you may find, as I did, a need to step back a bit before reading on. Worth the effort.
review 2: Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I liked the suspense, but my favorite part was the character of the 11-year-old boy. It made me laugh out loud in parts, if only because I could see my boys with that same attitude. Though what happened to the little girls that were kidnapped was sad, the perspective through the boy was something you don't see a lot. H... moree was the definite highlight of the book for me. less
