Star Wars: Coruscant Nights
review 1: Star Wars: Coruscant Nights III: Patterns of Force is by far the best of the three Coruscant Nights series of books. The plot, is something that any Star Wars fan knows, since the beginning, that it's not going to happen: A plan to kill Emperor Palpatine. Therefore, the only thing left to know, as a reader, is knowing how is it that they do not accomplish their mission. There are some others sub-plots worth satisfying your curiosity over like Darth Vader's interest in Jax Pavan, Haninum Tyk Rhinnan's desire to "taste" the force, and an apparent force sensitive young man. The "love issue", apparent since book one is finally solved, and some of the group's members are revealed to be not as loyal as you think.Anyway, it's a good book but not one of the great ones in the Expan... moreded Universe.
review 2: I am reviewing the Star Wars novel Coruscant Nights 3: Patterns Of Force by Michael Reaves which is a very good book which I bought from kindle. This book is the conclusion to the Coruscant Nights trilogy and is one of the better books in the Star Wars series. The story kicks off with the man who was once Darth Vader's right hand man coming to terms with all the evil he has done and now he is part of a rag tag group led by Jax a Jedi who is very much being hunted down by the Empire although they initially think he has died in an ambush Darth Vader is very concerned when he learns he is alive. Darth Vader's ex helper is particularly interested in the droid which seems to exhibit human characteristics and he very much wants to sell it for lots of money. Jax becomes separated from some of his party which is probably for survival more than anything. The Empire is intent on exterminating all Jedi and is using Darth Vader to sense their forces and locate them. There is a bit of a show down with Darth Vader near the end. Jax also visits the Jedi headquarters only to find it deserted and abandoned. The other books in the trilogy have been reviewed by me recently and Michael Reaves also wrote Star Wars: Death Star also reviewed by me. He has also been Emmy nominated for his work on Batman: The Animated Series. It's also worth noting what happens in one Star Wars novel affects what happens in the others and it is considered quite an honor to be asked to write one of these novels. There are literally hundreds of books in the overall series. I would love to read all of them. less
