review 1: At first I was a little skeptical reading about the last Jedi but with every page turned the book absorbed me more and more. It is a great story about learning about oneself, the inner fight between light and dark and that knowledge can be good but also depends on who is using it and for what.I really loved the character of Jax Pavan, who seemed lost half of the time, while still fighting for what he belived in. Struggling with himself and what he had experienced he learns to overcome many obstacles and I would count this book as one of my favorite Star Wars books so far.
review 2: Seems that I've read this book before reading the 'Coruscant Nights' trilogy that came before it and set up the characters, their history, and some of their motivations. However! Th
... moreis book was written as a stand-alone and very well written as one, too. I dropped into the narrative seamlessly and found myself enjoying the characters the most. Really, that is the greatest strength of this story: its characters. Especially the side characters. In the end, I wanted to know more about them moreso than our titular last Jedi. Not that he was a weak character, no, his arc was actually handled very well. His was simply less interesting to me in the way that something good is less favored for something REALLY good.If you like Star Wars EU books that have a hefty focus on really good characters, you'll like this book. less
