review 1: I love ghost stories, but I simply could not get into this book. The plot was contrived, and Evie's interactions with dead celebrities such as Janis Joplin were too unbelievable, even if you suspended your beliefs about ghosts in general, which readers of ghost stories willingly do. I stopped reading this book in the middle. It is possible that once Evie began investigating the murder, the plot may have become more interesting. I'll never know.
review 2: This book was certainly an eye opener. It really made me wonder what is really in store for us when we pass on. I cannot wait to read the follow up book in 2013. I would really like to know how the author (Michele Scott) researched the information for this book and where some of the research was obtained from. ... more(or is it just her own perspective) I would like to read a bit more on her (this) theory of the afterlife. This book is not scary at all, actually some parts made me laugh out loud, it just makes you wonder about life. less
