review 1: Cast in Fury by Michelle SagaraMichelle takes us back to Elantra where Kaylin is suppose to be a Culture Resource for a play writer writing a play about the tidal wave and Tha'alani. Mainly she feels that it is babysitting. However as the story progresses she realizes that yes is the best person for this job. Kaylin understands peoples fear after everything that has happened and wants to help humans understand that it is misplaced. While Kaylin is taking care of this something happens to put Marcus in Leontine jail. Kaylin has to do her job and make sure that Marcus gets out. But this time will she be able to survive it because she doesn't understand all that are the Leontine race. She does learn more about them but understanding everything she has learned is hard to do. Wi... morell it change things for her in the end?
review 2: I really like this series; I don't think there is anything else out there like it. Sagara has created a very original world full of amazing supernatural (for lack of a better word) races of characters. I have only two small criticisms. First, I felt like it could have been shorter had the author chosen to edit some of the very small details that appear several times throughout the book. (For instance, the small details that distinguish Leontine chuckling and growling.) It didn't make the book boring; I just think that it could have used a little more selective editing. Also, I would really like to see some more females with authority. I realize that a society in which males are almost exclusively the authority figures may be more 'realistic,' but in fantasy realism is irrelevant. And given that there is a female protagonist, I don't think if there were more of a balance of females with power that a bunch of bros are going to go burning the next book. In other words, I don't think the author would lose any readers from the main target audience (not that men can't enjoy this series; I don't want that to come across at all.)Actually, one last little thing that's been bothering me, that has nothing to do with the author. The cover. While it is really pretty and cool, and everything that it should be, I'm bothered that Kaylin looks like she's casting magic with the bracer on. Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems to me that if she is going to be portrayed using magic that the bracer (that as far as I know only serves to block her magic) should be off of her arm. less

I wasn't as impressed by this one. Too much legal stuff. Still good, though.
