review 1: This is my first time ever reading Supergirl and I enjoyed this introduction to her. The New 52 introduction is a set-up story giving Kara her background arrival on earth. She doesn't know what is going on, where she is, and finds she has superpowers. She's rip-roaring mad and when Superman makes an appearance she takes it out on him. That was a lot of fun! There is a story in here that has Kara up against some creatures called the "Worldkillers" and there is some sort of secret between them, her father and Krypton but that plot is settled for the time being and the next volume is ready to start a fresh story. We don't get to know Supergirl much as she's angry and stubborn most of this book but I'm pretty ok with her look, costume and she's muscular, certainly a good look.... more I'm intrigued and will read her again.
review 2: In Supergirl: Last Daughter of Krypton, Kara Zor-El wakes up on Earth, utterly confused as to where she is or why. The last thing she remembers is baby-sitting in order to avoid preparing for graduation. Now she finds herself in the snow, fighting robots that turn out to be human. She encounters Superman, who tries to recruit her to fight for good on Earth, as well as several villains who fail to kill or recruit her, but clearly will return in her future. As another series in the New 52, Supergirl is another obvious set up for a serial. The villains do not have much dialogue beyond, we will leave you alone for now, but you better believe we will return in a future volume. Sure, it must be difficult to reinvent a new character, and there must be enormous pressure to create something that readers will buy and follow. But the lack of finesse with creating characters and plotlines is almost painful. Well, the author has a cool last name, in any case. Good luck, Michael Green. I hope you make this series take off. less

Great intro story, great art. Much better series than Superman, Action Comics, or Superboy.
