review 1: The idea of books having power combined with what was touted to be a thriller setting was a draw, and the story did have some moments, but a bit more character development would have put some meat on a not bad idea. The appealing bookstore owner, who opens the story, dies early leaving behind some one-dimensional central characters to carry the book. Neither the hero nor the love interest are fleshed out enough to even know what type of people they are or what they see in each other beyond their good looks and shared goal. The second string characters(like Mehmet)were actually more interesting!
review 2: ..mulai kecewa saat ternyata Pau itu pecundang sejaiti. Kecewanya karena sifat asli dia dimunculkan di saat yang kurang dramatik. Pukulannya yang membuat Jon C... moreampelli terkapar juga kurang mengesankan (bahkan membuat sangsi..) karena menempatkan lakon sebagai lelaki muda yang lemah. Apalagi dia dengan mudahnya dia mendadak jadi penurut terhadap si musuh. Perkara dalam buku ini mungkin karena terjemahannya yang kurang mengena (api yang berpijar-pijar?). Bisa dimengerti sih, mungkin karena penerapan Bahasa Denmark, bahasa asli si penulis novel. less
