review 1: The plot for this book was interesting to say the least. In it you learn about the life of Taro Azuma, the Japanese immigrant who became a wildly successful entrepreneur. You learn about his life in different sections from different perspectives of people who had been around him at the time. While this was at times a little off putting for me, the overall story and the writing makes this a book that is worthwhile to read.
review 2: I've never read Wuthering Heights, so no clue about that aspect. It was an interesting story of the interwoven lives of the main characters. The telling kept me interested throughout. There were a few surprises, but more the kind of things any set of lives will have, nothing unbelievable. I feel like it was time well spent. I think t... morehe setting, Japan, was part of the appeal to me, as I have an interest in other cultures. For someone lacking that interest, the story might have less appeal. less
