review 1: Welcome to my work is about Harri who works at a travel agents, all she dreams about is going around the world, especially to Venice. She has Stella who is her best female friend, her cat Ron Howard (named after the actor obviously!),her best male friend Alex and her boyfriend Rob who she thinks is her prince charming, she soon after a turn of events finds out this is not so. Harri is asked by Viv (alex's mum) to put an advert in this magazine to try and find Alex a girlfriend. After a series of dates and events, Harri chooses Chelsea as his next date, Alex thinks she is "the one". It is one night when Harri shares a kiss with Alex that she begins to fall in love with him, but she is at that time still with Rob and Alex is preparing to propose to Chelsea. Stella takes m... moreatters into her own hands at the engagement party - she reveals Harri's feelings for Alex, Chelsea's fun with Rob's friend etc. It ends with Alex and Harri going to Venice together to start off their new life together. I really enjoyed this, it was quite funny in some parts. Good for those who enjoy chick lit
review 2: This book frustrated me. There were times when I had to convince myself to keep going and parts that kept me moving along. Perhaps if it had been a little shorter I would have enjoyed it more?? At times it felt like getting to the point took way too long and some of the dialogue felt unnatural. I also dislike when authors blatantly say things like "little did they know that would all change" at the end of a chapter. (Last comment: the cat's name was Ron Howard. That got annoying fast.) less
