review 1: Well this book was a pleasant surprise. It was funny. There were so many "LOL" moments, I lost track. No fake, unrealistic build up. This isn't a fairy tale, but makes you believe anyone can find love with a tear jerk-er for the end. Well written with suspense that wasn't thrown in your face at every turn. The questions were there, but you were so distracted by the other events you didn't skip pages just so you can get it over with, already!
review 2: I am so glad this author wrote Marley. I loved living in her head, reading about her fears, joys, and yes her past abuse. There are triggers and let me warn u, but I'm glad it's there. Marley is a strong, smart mouthed little thing who meets walking, talking, sexy Rick Randy(sounds so porn-ish doesn't it?). He's a
... more wealthy businessman who Marley has to work with/for while lusting after him. He is flirty, playfully, and yes sometimes downright inappropriate, but I'll forgive him because of his fierce chivalry. The temptations grow stronger between them, and then Rick takes the plunge and kisses Marley. They began a hot,x-rated affair when Marley just wants " friends with benefits".No commitment, no lovey dovey stuff or she's done. Of course that goes out the window after they spend all their time together. Marley reveals her past to him, unable to hide the fact that she can't sleep -just sleep- with anyone without hurting them. She has night terrors that get pretty violent. Rick takes it all in stride, ever the perfect gentleman. Marley has a great relationship with her BFF Dillon McKay(hello where are my 90210 peeps),her mother, and 2 sisters- one soon to be married. Her family has supported Marley and feel guilty about what happened to her.Marley doesn't want anyone's pity& she pushes Rick away. She reconciles her past(as best she can), starts therapy, takes meds to help her. An accident with her mother brings Rick and Marley back together, making for a great HEA. less
