review 1: I loved this short story/novella. The length was perfect for when I wanted to read it. The smut was amazing. I loved the use of the magic and the characters. The premise of the wolves vs lions was interesting (because of cats vs dogs). I want to see more of the world. I am glad that this was my first Moira Rogers book, it makes me excited for more. The only complaint I have is that I was not sure if Sabine was a wolf throughout the story. I am assuming that she was, but I think that could have been made more obvious. It could just be that I am a little dense, though.
review 2: My Review:This book has a definite fairy-talesque quality to it. A wicked witch, a cruel mother, an awful curse, a lost love, BUT that means that there is a happily-ever-after too. Overall
... more, this was a highly entertaining read. The storyline is wonderful...full of angst and heartache. You can't help but to feel totally empathy and heartbreak for Sabine. Her entire world has forgotten that she exists for the 3 years that Ciar has been gone. She has been entirely alone that entire time. Then he comes home, remembers her, but she knows that this memory will be gone within a few days. It's cruelty at it's highest level...a tiny bit of hope that will then be snatched away from her with time. This is definitely a HUGELY emotional novel and could have been seriously amazing because of that. Unfortunately, that is where this book fell short for me. The emotions weren't explored to their full potential. I know that this is a short novel, but if just a tiny bit more had been added to it, it could have been truly a wonderful book. As it stands, it's entertaining and a fun little book. Ciar is true Prince-Charming material...willing to do whatever he needs to for the love of his life. Even when he forgets Ciar, he still realizes that something is not right and goes searching for a solution to that. He doesn't give up even when Sabine has.Sabine has lived the last three years in an almost feral-like existence. She has resigned herself to her fate and has no hope left. She looks at the few days with Ciar as a gift and only wants to embrace this time until she is alone again. Her life is very bleak and sad...and she is fully prepared to end it after he forgets her. See, really emotional! One of the descriptions that I read of this book said that this was book 1. I look forward to seeing where Moira Rogers goes with this series. So far, I am intrigued! less
